Debbie is the founder of Lynn Michel Insurance and started in the insurance business working for her father while still in high school. She is licensed to sell both life and health insurance and property and casualty insurance (think home and auto) and has been licensed for over 35 years.
Today, her primary focus is working with those eligible for Medicare and other health insurance benefits.
Ove the years, people have said she explains insurance in a way that is easy to understand by simplifying an overwhelming process. Her extensive insurance background combined with her care-giving experience provides a unique perspective on the next chapter of someone’s life.

Education
Debbie is a graduate of the University of Maryland where she majored in Law Enforcement with a minor in Women’s Studies.
She has continued her insurance education and earned the following certifications:
- Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC),
- Certification for Long Term Care (CLTC)
- Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI)
- Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA).
Each designation requires ongoing training which keeps her current on insurance changes, coverages and professionalism. Maintaining these designations is in addition to what is required by each state to maintain an insurance license and the annual certifications with Medicare and ACA.
Hobbies
When Debbie isn’t helping her clients, she loves to garden. It’s a hobby she has had since she was a child and has some plants from her grandmother in her garden.
In addition to gardening, Debbie runs and has done triathlons. At 59 she ran her first (and probably only) marathon in NYC. She focuses on a healthy and active lifestyle spending as much time at the beach as she can.
